Born and raised in a military household, Damien Salas has worked as a newspaper and magazine photojournalist since 2011. Having gone through many relocations growing up, he has become a well-adapted reporter able to quickly find his bearings in any situation.

His earlier work includes documenting rural counties in the south, college football and the Petit Le Mans Formula One race series in Georgia. His focus currently covers a wide-range of topics in the National Capital Region to include human rights issues, ceremonial and military police units within the Army and Department of Defense news.

Much of Damien's work examines national issues on a local scale, and he believes that documenting individuals within the community is just as important as covering high profile events and public figures.
